The project focused on creating a cohesive visual experience that balanced readability, hierarchy, and engaging editorial presentation across multiple spreads and content sections.
CREATIVE PROCESS
The project began with visual research focused on editorial publications, travel and lifestyle magazines, coastal branding aesthetics, typography systems and publication layouts.
The design process included logo development, editorial grid systems, typography exploration, color palette selection, photography direction and content organization.
Special attention was given to balancing visual storytelling with deadability and maintaining consistency across all publication spreads.
FINAL PUBLICATION
The final publication combined editorial storytelling, branding, photography, and layout design into a cohesive magazine experience inspired by the city of Dana Point.
The completed project strengthened my understanding of how typography, hierarchy, imagery, and layout systems influence the way users consume and interact with visual information.
REFLECTION
This project reinforced the importance of structure and hierarchy in visual communication. Designing a publication system required balancing aesthetics with readability while ensuring that content remained engaging, organized, and accessible throughout the user experience.
